Modern Styling... Lifetime Lasting Beauty

For homeowners who prefer a sleek, modern style, cable railings from RailingWorks® truly demonstrate that less is more. Cable Railings are designed to provide the safety and structure of a traditional railing system but with an unobstructed view of your home’s surroundings. Update an older porch or deck with a modern accent or complete your new project with a sleek finishing touch.

Cable Railings provide maintenance free living and additional safety for your outdoor living space. Cable Railings are comprised of aluminum posts and stainless steel cables that require no painting or waterproofing for a lifetime of use. As with all of RailingWorks® railing styles, four different post/rail configurations are available. Since all materials are pre-fabricated for each individual deck, installation is quick and easy.

Position and install the posts and rail assemblies. Fasten down the complete hand rail system, then simply slide the stainless steel cables through the pre-drilled holes in the post and single picket. Complete your railing system by installing the included hardware and tightening the cables. You’re just moments away from a complete modern outdoor living space. Standard cable assemblies are 1/8" 1x19 Braid 316 Stainless Steel.

A single cable typically spans up to 70' in a straight run, 60' with one turn and 50' with two turns.

Typical spacing between cables are 3". The spans between uprights to keep the cable deflection low is 3'. With our standard rail system,  we will try to keep the post spacings close to 6' apart and have a center picket in-between for the cables to pass through to limit the deflection. We can design the system with 3' post spacings to eliminate the center picket and bottom tube, but it typically reduces visibility.

We offer many different railing styles and configurations to fit your needs. This page consist of different railing styles and components used. We currently offer 6 main railing configurations.

  • 2" post, flat base railing assembly with a continuous top cap.
  • 2" post, pedestal mount railing assembly with a continuous top cap.
  • 2" post, fascia mount railing assembly with a continuous top cap.
  • 3" post, flat base mount railing assembly.
  • 3" post, pedestal mount railing assembly.
  • 2"-3" post combination in flat and pedestal mount.
