DECKING

1: How do I get product and pricing information.
Directly from us. We sell and ship all products direct to keep cost minimal. Please fill out our contact form for free samples, literature, and pricing.
2: What information do I need to send for a detailed quote?
We like to get a faxed or emailed drawing from the customer showing the outside dimensions of the deck. This helps eliminate any confusion and allows us to lay out the decking for minimal to no waste. Please visit the Downloads link to download a design sheet to draw your deck on. Please visit our Contact Page for contact information.
3: What lengths are available?
LockDry decking is available in 12’-2" – 32’-2" lengths in 2’ increments. It is also available up to 40’ if needed. NextDeck is available in 12’ – 16’ – 20’ – 24’ lengths. Wood grain colors are only available up to 20’ long.
4: How is the decking cut and what tools will I need?
Standard woodworking and power tools are all that you need. Most orders only require an electric drill with assorted drills and bits, tape measure, pencil, & a hacksaw. For cutting the decking, a blade for non-ferrous materials must be used. Example: DeWalt® DW3217 – 10" 80T Non-Ferrous Metal Cutting Blade or equivalent. DeWalt® DW3229 – 12" 80T Non-Ferrous Metal Cutting Blade or equivalent. Non-ferrous cutting blades can generally be purchased at local hardware or welding supply stores. We also stock 7 1/4", 10" & 12" blades.
5: What are the board sizes?
Please visit the “Components” link.
6: How should LockDry decking run with the house?
Click Here for photos. (Get photo from LockDry FAQ)
7: Can LockDry be installed directly on joists or plywood?
Yes. The decking can be installed on any standard sub-structure providing there is adequate pitch for drainage. It is recommended to remove any existing decking to have a flat surface to fasten to.
8: What are the main requirements for my deck framing for LockDry® decking?

Proper slope: The deck framing needs to be sloped in the direction that water needs to drain.

The decking also needs to run in the same direction.

Flatness: The framing needs to be flat and true with no major dips, rises, or waves.

9: How much does LockDry & Nextdeck decking weigh?
LockDry is 2 lb. per square foot. About 1/2 the weight of wood and much stronger!
10: How hot does the surface get in the sun?

LockDry & Nextdeck decking stays cooler compared to wood or concrete. Our powder-coat finish reflects heat combined with the heat dissipation properties of aluminum. It is recommended to have adequate air flow under the decking for maximum heat dissipation.

11: How well does it hold up in very hot and cold climates?
LockDry® & Nextdeck decking are one of the most durable decking products available. Because of the aluminum construction, it is able to withstand extreme heat and cold. Aluminum has a working temperature of -400 to 400 degrees F. They are completely fire proof and has a melting point over 1200 degrees. They will not freeze and crack because aluminum does not absorb water. They also have very low expansion and contraction characteristics because of the lack of water absorption.
12: What other products are made out of aluminum?
Window frames, doors, roofing, framing, and siding are just a few. Aluminum products are also widely used in the automotive business. Car and truck engines, frames, and body panels. Semi-truck trailers are also made out of aluminum for the high strength to weight ratio and corrosion resistance for the northern climates.
13: How Durable is the Powder Coat Finish?
Powder Coat is one of the strongest and most durable paint finishes available. Our finishes surpass requirments by the American Architectural Manufacturers Association AAMA-2604 specifications. Typical test requirements are 5 years of vary minor color change or fade, 3000 hours of salt fog testing and humidity tests.
14: Can I Install a Gutter at the End of the LockDry Deck?
Yes, a typical gutter used for a roof can be used.
15: How do you handle uneven deck widths?
The last board can be ripped lengthwise to fit uneven widths. The edge trim profile can be installed to cover the exposed edge.
16: How long will it take to receive an order.
We typically ship in stock products within 2 days. If we have to manufacture, lead time is usually 3-6 weeks. Shipping times vary. Most shipments take 1-5 business days.
17: What is the price?

FENCING

1: How do I get product and pricing information.
Directly from us. We sell and ship all products direct to keep cost minimal. Please fill out our contact form for free fence samples and literature.
2: How do I install the fence?
ProWay™ Aluminum Fences are easily installed. 1. Place the first post in concrete. 2. Insert the horizontal fence channels into the pre-punched holes in the post. 3. Slide the second post onto the fence section. 4. The next fence section slides into the previous post, and so on. If you need less than a full fence section, simply cut the rails to the size you need with a Hacksaw, Sawzall, or Jig saw. Click here for the installation instructions.
3: Can fence be installed on a downhill or uphill slope?
All of the standard aluminum fence sections can either rake or rack to follow the slope of the ground. The fences are capable of dropping about one foot over the 6’ length of a section. The fence can also be installed in a stair step configuration with custom punched holes in the post. Please contact us for a custom quote if the stair step configuration is desired.
4: How do you make the fence go around angles or curve?
The fence sections can easily be angled in the posts to follow most curves. There is a very slightly larger hole in the post for the horizontal channel to rotate within. The fence channels can also be cut into smaller sections for a very tight curve. Another post between the two sections would be required. The fence sections themselves can not be bent. When using a line post, up to a 45° angle can be achieved. A corner post can go from 45° to 135°. See illustration.
5: What is the post spacing?
Residential fence posts need a 72 ½" spacing on-center.
6: What heights are available?
48", 54", 60", 72" & custom.
7: What fences meet the IRC/ICC/BOCA code for swimming pool enclosures?
Standard building codes require pool fences to have less than 4" between pickets and a minimum 45" between rails. If fences have less than 45" between horizontal rails, 1-3/4" pickets spacing must be used. Styles that meet standard pool building codes: Style #1 – 48" Tall Style #2 – 54" Tall Style #4 – 54" Tall Style #6 – 60" Tall Style #7 – 60" Tall Style #8 – 60" Tall Style #10 – 60" Tall Style #12 – 72" Tall Style #13 – 72" Tall
8: What are the standard fence colors?
Aluminum fences come in a black, white or bronze powder coat finish. Finials, ball caps and scrolls are also available in black, white or bronze.
9: Are custom colors available?
Yes, but there are minimum requirements that must be met. Please contact us to go over your specific requirements.
10: Can the fence attach to existing columns or the side of my house?
Yes, we have wall mount castings that slide onto the fence sections to allow mounting to any vertical surface. The wall mount brackets attach to the surface with two screws.
11: I want to use my own columns or post. How far apart should I space them?
All of the fence sections are 72" long. When using standard 2" aluminum post, the centerline post spacing is 72½", the fence sections slide into the post ¾" on each side . This leaves a ½" gap between the fence channels inside the post. For columns, 72" – 72" ¼" spacing between is recommended.
12: Can the fence mount on a patio/deck?
Yes. The fence post can be core mounted into concrete or surface mounted with one of our pedestal bases. When using a pedestal base, it is recommended not to use a fence over 54 inches tall.
